Bell communications standards

Bell communications standards
A set of data-transmission standards developed by AT&T in the 1980s that rapidly became the de facto standard for modem manufacturers. Although several of these standards are still widely used in the United States, the CCITT V series definitions are now generally accepted as the defining standards for modem use, data compression, and associated hardware.
